With great pleasure, the Italian Society of Remote Sensing – AIT invites you to attend the 10th AIT International Conference “Planet Care from Space”.
The event will take place in Cagliari (Italy), September 13-15, 2021.
We hope to meet you in Cagliari, but if all safety conditions due to COVID-19 couldn’t be assured, we are ready to organize the best Remote Conference with the direct involvements of all participants.
The AIT Conferences, workshops, seminars, and summer schools on Remote Sensing have a long and successful history over the last 30 years. Since 2016, the AIT Conferences subsequently took place every 2 years, moving in addition to an international connotation.
The 2021 Conference will provide opportunities for both creating a scientific-operational “networking” and giving presentations on a wide range of theoretical and applied topics. The “Planet Care from Space” title is mainly addressed to Geo-Envi-Hazards and Climate Change investigations, recognizing and reinforcing the important role of Remote Sensing technologies for both global environmental protection and mitigation of the climate changes effects in our society.
New showcases and applications by young technicians/researchers will be an important part of this conference, enhancing the role of the integrated knowledge of environmental dynamics and their interactions with human activities.
We wish you, your families, and your loved ones all the best for the months ahead and look forward to seeing you at the AIT 2021 Conference on our wonderful Island.

This Research Topic intends to assemble high-quality contributions that provide an overview and critical review of ongoing geomatics applications in the forest sector in the light of climate change, claiming for experiences that could highlight the role, or the need, of standardization of both data and procedures. Contributions from authors should not just report case studies but more properly highlight opportunities, limitations, and concerns still persisting in this context.
Topic Editors: Enrico Borgogno Mondino, Vanina Fissore, Brian J Palik

16th Specialist Meeting on MICROWAVE RADIOMETRY and REMOTE SENSING of the ENVIRONMENT
MicroRad 2020 has been transformed in a virtual event, that will be held from 16 to 20 November 2020, on the WebEx platform
